Far from home, Asha stepped out of the guesthouse and onto the cobblestone path on a balmy and full moon night, with her heart wrapped up with feelings of regret and longing seemingly inescapable. She walked past the cafes, the ateliers, and towards the piazza and sat down on the edge of a centuries-old fountain to let the water wash her troubles away. She dipped her fingertips into the water and felt to her surprise a smooth flower floating on the surface. The flower was black and its petal tips blushed a fresh and rosy pink. She picked it up, pressed it to her cheek, and knew everything would be ok.

Her black dress was made of a 100% cotton sari hand-woven in a textile cooperative based in Orissa trimmed with an ancient temple motif in black and hints of pink. 100% cotton lining. Made in India. Designed in Brooklyn.
